The evolution of german fieldgear 1933-1945

The intention of this page is to give an impression of the evolution from traditional soldier and equipment into the modern armies and soldiers of today. The weaponry and gear of the german soldier evolved from the early era of nationalsozialism to the end of the war.  Inventions trough experience and lack of resources took the german soldier from the prussian traditions into the modern soldier of today in a few, but horrible years.  The sections will try to be as chronological as possible showing this evolution and maye give the fellow collector some hints and history on the way. This page was intended to be an offline personal site serving as a personal notebook and referance. As it might help other collectors it was made online.
